Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection Induces Expression of Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase, CD3, and CD8 in Naturally Occurring Pneumonia in Lambs

Abstract Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an RNA that belongs to the Pneumovirus genus of Paramyxoviridae family. The aim this study was evaluate expressions inducible nitric oxide synthetase (iNOS), CD3 (pan T cells), and CD8 (cytotoxic cells) in lamb lungs naturally infected with RSV using immunohistochemistry (IHC). For purpose, 100 pneumonic 10 control lung tissue samples were taken from lambs slaughtered slaughterhouse after macroscopic examination. streptavidin– peroxidase method (ABC) used for IHC staining, it revealed positivity 18 examined pneumonia (18%). These positive cases then immunostained iNOS, CD3, CD8, compared controls. In all these cases, increase iNOS expression (100%) detected, higher number + lymphocytes detected 14 (78%) while five (28%) only. Given immunoexpression RSV-positive most concluded play important role immune response occurring infection. With study, mentioned markers evaluated first time RSV.
